The Great Outdoors
This time of year can be difficult, for some people, if you let the cold get into your head. The fact of less daylight doesn’t help either, but if you dress warm and venture outdoors, you’ll find winter more enjoyable. I like going out on the frozen lakes, provided the ice is safe, for some cross-country skiing, ice skating, fishing, or just a nice long walk. The one lake that I really enjoy, is Beaver Dam lake, in Dodge county Wisconsin. The lake is large enough, that you get the feeling your removed from the hustle and bustle, of city life, yet all the amenities of the city are close, with the city of Beaver Dam on its southeast shore.
Best Little Town in the Midwest
There’s a little town in the Midwest, that I like to visit, when I’m not too busy, that has a farmers market in the summer months, at their mall, just off Spring street, in Beaver Dam WI. I haven’t gotten around to this one yet, however, I do plan on checking it out this spring. There’s something about a farmer’s market, that you just don’t get from any other shopping experience. The atmosphere is laid back, you can meet the people who are the producers of the products your buying, and the quality of the produce is amazing. If you haven’t been to a farms market, you really should check one out, it’s a pleasant way to spend some time, when you have it.
A New Year
This year I’ve decided to focus more on the appearance of this site and narrow down the important aspects of Craw Creek farms. As we move forward, I will try to engage in more of the core issues of the sites mission, which is to promote country life and a healthy lifestyle. I hope that you will enjoy corresponding with the site and derive some pleasure from its posts. I also feel that this will be a good forum, to engage in cyber socialization, without being too ridged, or having to conform to an algorithm.
Unsecure
I generally communicate on line, through email, except when I’m writing here, in a blog. I had been on social media, however, I never connected with any group that I preferred to be associated with, the suggestions for associates were generally for trade groups, or political ideals, or organizations. I had also received a lot of advertisements for products and services, that were not even close to any of my interest. I like this forum of communication, because I can write, review, and then publish my thoughts, without being subjected to inappropriate advertising, or suggestions that I join a group that I have no interest in. If you do gain my confidence, here, then we may communicate further, through email.
Berries and Cream
Here’s a simple way to enjoy fresh raspberries and strawberries, take a pint of berries, put them into a bowl, then add some whipped cream, stir in the whipped cream and enjoy. If you have frozen berries, just be sure their well thawed, before adding the whipped cream.
Boys Don’t Play with Dolls
I had a red headed doll, that I would take everywhere, and if my mother tried to take it from me, I would get so upset that she just gave up trying. She must have thought, she was going to have an interesting go of it , raising me. As the years passed, the doll got stored away in the attic, then after my mother passed, I discovered the doll, while going through, the attic. I didn’t have the fetish, of playing with dolls anymore, so I put the doll up for sale on e-bay. The Red Headed Cabbage Patch Kid, Strawberry Shortcake doll sold for over $500.00.
A Berry Long life
I believe that to live a long life, you need to eat right, exercise, and get your rest. A good diet should include raspberries, strawberries, and plenty of fresh vegetables. Gardening is a good way, to get your exercise, without spending lots of money, on expensive equipment, and you can get plenty of fresh air, which will help with your sleeping habits.
Initial planting
This time of year, we are getting ready to start our hibiscus seeds indoors, so that they will be in full bloom in spring, when you are ready, to plant them in the garden, or landscape.
